Future Apprentice Career Service
A personalised career consultation for secondary school students – and their mums and dads – planning for a career in trades
No one knows trades quite like MIGAS, and that’s why we’re pouring 35 years working with apprentices into a teen friendly, practical and enlightening career service for future tradies: the Future Apprentice Career Service (FACS).
Our approach is to help you discover the trade career options best aligned to your skills and talent, match those to recommended trade options, and set you up to pursue an apprenticeship by understanding what’s involved and expected of you.
So, let’s get to the FACS…
Who can access the Future Apprentice Career Service?
The discussion, topics and career report are aimed at students currently completing Years 10, 11 or 12, and/or may already be undertaking a pre-apprenticeship course while at school.
We welcome students to access the Service along with a parent, guardian or important person in their life.
Note: Only Australian citizens, those with permanent resident status, and New Zealand citizens with an eligible work visa may commence an Australian Apprenticeship, and as such this Service is not available for overseas applicants.
How does it work?
We’ll need about an hour of your time starting with a 10 minute chat by phone to learn more about you and your future goals – and to schedule your 45 minute virtual career consultation via Microsoft Teams.
Prior to your consultation we’ll send you a link to complete your personal career report online. You’ll receive a copy of your report and our career expert will unpack the results and insights with you at your appointment.
Depending on your stage of schooling we’ll also discuss apprenticeship openings with MIGAS and tips for applying and interviewing.
